Who we are

A six-person crew. Five to seven homes a year. Built to still be standing in fifty years.

We're not a volume builder. We don't take on more work than we can deliver properly. Pete Marlow has been building custom homes on the Sunshine Coast since 2003 — the same approach, the same crew structure, and the same commitment to finishing on the date we said.

03How we work

Clear communication. No surprises. A fixed price you can hold us to.

  1. 01

    Site visit & honest conversation

Pete visits the site — or reviews your architect's drawings — before pricing anything. He surfaces the cost drivers early so nothing surprises you in the contract. This costs you nothing.

  2. 02

    Fixed-price contract, full specifications

Sam coordinates the detailed specification with your architect. We price against a full spec — not an allowance-heavy estimate. The contract price is what you pay. 130+ homes, same approach every time.

  3. 03

Build, handover & twelve months after

We build to the timeline. Handover is when every defect is resolved — not before. Pete answers the phone for twelve months after handover. That's the commitment.

The Marlow Built commitment

"The honest answer is we're not the cheapest builder on the Coast and we don't want to be. What we do is finish on the date we promised, with the build quality we showed you in the contract, and we answer the phone for twelve months after handover."

A process built on clear communication and no surprises.

We work with a small number of clients at a time. That means Pete is reachable, our project coordinator Sam keeps you updated every week, and we're never stretched across more sites than we can manage properly.

01Who we are

Marlow Built has been on the Sunshine Coast for 22 years.

We're a six-person team. Myself, two leading hands, two carpenters, and our project coordinator Sam. We build five to seven custom homes a year and take on two or three significant renovations. Most of our clients come through architects we've worked with for over a decade.

We don't do specs, project homes, or knock-down rebuilds in master-planned estates. We work in James Hardie weatherboard, Colorbond on roofs, and a lot of recycled timber from the Cooroy yard. QBCC licensed, Master Builders Queensland members since 2003. We've never finished a project late.

Materials we trust

The same materials in every Marlow Built home.

We've worked with the same suppliers for years. Not because it's cheaper, but because we know exactly how each material performs on the Coast — in heat, humidity, and sea air.

Kitchen extension renovation in progress — materials and exposed finishes
James Hardie weatherboard

Approved installer since 2008. We use HardieFlexTM and HardieplanktradeTM on nearly every new home. Performs in the Coast's humidity. Warrants well. We know every profile.

Residential construction with scaffold and brickwork
Colorbond roofing

Steel from BlueScope. We use it on every roof we build and most of the pavilions. Copes with the Coast better than terracotta. Comes in profiles that work with contemporary and heritage homes alike.

House renovation with scaffold and red tiled roof and brickwork
Bauwerk limewash & recycled timber

Bauwerk for interior feature walls — heritage and contemporary work. Recycled hardwood from the Cooroy yard for structural and decorative timber. No two pieces the same. Clients who have it don't want anything else.
